Superman's Super Price
Would you ever pay $1 million for something? How about for a book? What about a comic book?
I know there are quite a few comic book collectors who are absolutely bananas about the things but seriously, one million big ones?
That’s exactly what happened today. A rare copy of the first comic book featuring Superman sold for that record breaking price.
Apparently, the secret transaction took place between a private seller and private buyer for a 1938 edition of Action Comics No.1. The original book sold for 10 cents and features Superman lifting a car on its cover.
The sale, conducted by an online auction site, comicconnect.com, lasted only minutes before the issue was scooped right up.
There have been some highly priced comic book sales but those have been in the range of $300,000 to $400,000.
Collectors are calling this book a rare diamond.
To each their own, I guess!
